Permit Overnight Parking Pilot

Background

The Town is piloting new permit-based overnight parking from April 12 until September 12, 2021.
The permitted parking pilot has been developed as an interim measure to address immediate parking challenged in the community while a more comprehensive analysis is undertaken. The analysis will review Town-wide parking policies with consideration given to:

  • Emergency response
  • Infrastructure maintenance
  • Environmental sustainability
  • Social inclusion

Pilot Program

The Town has designated six overnight parking spots in municipal lots adjacent to the Ross Family Complex, Civic Centre, and Holland Landing Community Centre. Residents may use the spots between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m. to alleviate identified parking pressures in residential areas.

To access a parking spot, residents must pre-purchase a permit at a cost of $100/per month30 day period. Spots are on a first-come first serve basis for the duration of the pilot.

To apply for a permit please complete the following forms and send them to:

  1. Customer Service via email
  2.  Drop the completed forms off at the drop box at the front of the Civic Centre at 19000 Leslie Street
  3. Mail it to Customer Service, Town of East Gwillimbury, 19000 Leslie Street, Sharon, ON L0G 1V0
