Parking By-Law Review

Staff are considering a number of changes to update the Parking By-law which will address current parking enforcement issues as well as to introduce potential parking prohibition/permissions as follows: Also plans on consolidating the traffic and parking bylaw

  • A temporary overnight paid permit
  • Parking prohibitions from 2 to 6 a.m., year-round
  • Parking prohibitions for commercial vehicles on a highway within a residential zone
  • Better By-law clarity for vehicles found overhanging onto the roadway or sidewalks
  • Parking provisions for vehicles interfering with highway cleaning operations
  • Standardize signage requirements for Fire Access Routes
  • To increase set fines with an early payment option as approved by the Regional Senior Justice of the Ontario Court of Justice. Town fines are 2-3 times lower than others.
