Community Infrastructure & Environmental Services

  • Responsible for the provision and maintenance of municipal infrastructure: roads, water and sewer distribution systems and; storm-water management facilities and all associated appurtenances.
  • Provide safe and effective levels of service to the public. Provide essential services such as waste management, winter road maintenance, the supply of potable water and disposal of waste water.

Engineering & Environmental Services

Capital Programs & Traffic Engineering

Provides Project Management services including design, tendering and supervision of construction for the Transportation and Capital Program and numerous maintenance contracts associated with water and sewer mains, roads, sidewalks and over 2000 streetlights. They are also responsible for traffic studies and crossing guards for public schools.  

Development Engineering

Responsible for the review of all plans of subdivision and site plan applications from inception through design, construction supervision, until the subdivision is assumed by the municipality.  They ensure all developments are properly serviced with regards to water, roads, sewers, stormwater management facilities, and road lighting. You can also view master plans and other Town publications.

Roads Operations

Provides for the complete maintenance of roads (over 180 kms), storm sewers (approx. 150 kms) and sidewalks including cleaning, snow plowing, repairs, signage, ditches, boulevard trees, etc..

Waste Management

Provides for collection of waste, recyclables, yard waste and source separated organics from curb side for residential, municipal facilities and small commercial establishments. 

Water/Wastewater Systems

Provides for the maintenance of the Town’s water distribution and wastewater collection systems in accordance with the Ministry of Environment regulations. They ensure that the Town’s wastewater collection system has a minimal amount of inflow and infiltration entering the system which reduces capacity and increases costs.

Corporate Fleet

Responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of Town vehicles.
