Hybrid Trucks

The Town purchased two hybrid pick-up trucks. One hybrid was a replacement unit for the existing corporate fleet, while the other hybrid was an addition to the fleet. Council adopted a resolution on February 5, 2007, requiring that all light duty vehicles purchased for town use in 2007 be of hybrid type.

Fleet operations will be reviewing the usage of alternative fuels for heavy-duty vehicles. Alternative fuels such as ethanol, biofuel or natural gas can be used in existing engines with little or no modification.
