Town Wide Litter Clean Up
OPERATION CLEAN SWEEP
On April 27th, 28th and 29th our sixth annual Town-wide litter clean-up will take place. Community groups, service clubs, residents, schools and businesses enjoy the spring air, pick up litter and celebrate their own personal contribution to making East Gwillimbury a beautiful place to live, work and play. From these humble beginnings the annual clean-up has blossomed into a consistently successful event thanks to the help of you!!
How you can help
Designate a time to go outside and PICK UP LITTER in the vicinity of your business, home, park or school. Prior to this event, gloves and garbage bags will be available for pick-up during regular business hours from the Customer Care Department in the Civic Centre for all registered groups.
- Beginning Friday April 20th at noon you may place any "litter garbage" you have collected in BINS PROVIDED at the following locations: Sharon Arena Parking Lot, Mount Albert Ross Family Complex Parking Lot and the Holland Landing Community Centre Parking Lot. Please look for well identified bins for "garbage" and "recyclables".
- PLEASE REPORT any hazardous materials or dead animals to (905) 478-4282 Ext.1296 so that alternative arrangements can be made for disposal.
- STAY SAFE!! Roadside clean-up requires special training and equipment; therefore, participants are urged to refrain from entering raodways.
Spread the word to friends and neighbours; anyone and everyone are welcome to help with this important annual event. To make Operation Clean Sweep a success we require support from all communitites in the Town. By working together, we CAN make a difference.
