Accomplishments

The Committee has worked diligently to advise Council on strategy, policy and procedures that will help achieve Council's goals related to the health and well-being of the Town's residents.

Since the Committee's inception, it has been successful in working with other local physicians in attracting new family doctors, increasing the Town's total to 13.  In 2007, various promotional materials including brochures and a video were created to help provide interested physicians with important information regarding the Town.  In 2010, the Committee created the Physician Recruitment and Retention Strategy 2010 focusing on the need for facilities for physicians and the Physician Brochure providing information for interested physicians.

Resources for Interested Physicians

Refer to the Medical Facilities Map for the location of current physicians in East Gwillimbury.

The attached Physician Recruitment and Retention Strategy 2010 document outlines current growth plans, where we foresee the need for more physicians.  In addition, a Physician Brochure was created for those considering practicing in our Town.

In 2007, the Physician Recruitment and Retention Video was created to highlight the benefits of our Town and the provincial funding incentives. Since that time, provincial incentives have changed, but it still contains a wealth of information of what East Gwillimbury has to offer you.

Resources for Residents

For a view of where our current physicians are located, refer to the Medical Facilities Map

For reference to the needs identified as the Town grows, refer to the Physician Recruitment and Retention Strategy 2010.
