Environmental Advisory Committee
This committee is responsible for making recommendations to Council on issues relating to the three R's (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle). Our concern for a cleaner greener environment includes educating the public on how to reduce harmful emissions and energy consumption. We have also undertaken some land stewardship programs such as cleaning river areas of debris. We are ordinary citizens working together to find common-sense solutions to environmental problems.
The goal of this committee is to help our Town and fellow East Gwillimbury residents make "down-to-earth" choices which support a healthy greener environment.
Did you know…
That you can recycle rechargeable batteries and old cell phones?
Every time you recycle an old cell phone or the used rechargeable battery from your camcorder, cordless phone, digital camera, laptop computer, PDA, power tools or remote control toys, you make our environment a better place in which to live.
Drop-off boxes are located at the Civic Centre in Sharon and the East Gwillimbury Public Libraries (Holland Landing and Mount Albert Branches)
With your help, we can make a difference!
The Call2Recycle program is operated by the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation, a non-profit, public service organization dedicated to recycling of rechargeable batteries and cell phones & supported by the East Gwillimbury Environmental Advisory Committee.
