Victoria Day Closures and Safety Tips

Customer Service will be closed on Monday, May 18 for Victoria Day and available again by phone on Tuesday, May 
19 at 8:30 a.m. If you have an emergency with regards to water, sewers, roads, parks or recreation facilities, please call 905-478-4282, and press option 3.

Essential and emergency services will be provided during holidays. If you have an emergency with regards to water, sewers, roads, parks or recreation facilities, please call 905-478-4282 and your call will be answered.

York Region Waste Depots

Long Weekend Safety Tips 

Before the Long Weekend begins Emergency and Community Safety Services’ has some important tips for you to keep in mind if you’re planning to use fireworks: 

  • Be fire safe
  • Only adults can discharge fireworks 
  • Read all labels and packaging before lighting fireworks 
  • Keep a hose or pail filled with water near by
  • Have a safe #VictoriaDay Weekend
