Holland Landing East Tower Maintenance

York Region is making improvements in your community!  

As early as Monday, September 23, The Regional Municipality of York will begin cleaning and repainting the Holland Landing East water tower located on Plank Road. Work is expected to take approximately six (6) weeks to complete, weather-permitting,and will happen between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

The water tower is 43 years old and due to its age, requires maintenance. Repainting will improve the look of the water tower and protect the steel structure from corrosion.

Work activities include:

  • Preparing the tower for cleaning (removing loose materials and peeling paint)
  • Cleaning the tower using a pressure washer
  • Repainting the tower white

What can you expect?

  • There will be some construction-related noise and dust. When preparing the tower for cleaning, the contractor will use covered grinders with a vacuum to capture dust and debris
  • Access to all homes will be maintained
  • There will be no impact to your water services (the tower is currently not in service)
  • This work is weather-dependent and could be re-scheduled or prolonged due to poor weather conditions
