The proposed residential Draft Plan of Subdivision is to divide the lands into 9 development blocks to facilitate the development of 15 single-detached dwellings and 14 townhouse units on a private road for a total of 29 units. 

Current Status 

The proposed development has been appealed to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT).

LPAT has identified the following three issues:

1) Servicing Allocation
2) Vehicular Access off King Street via Block 201
3) Natural Heritage System

A Council meeting is scheduled on July 27th to obtain Council's direction on the proposed settlement matters.

Application History 

The following highlights the history of the proposed applications:

  • Proposed applications were filed and deemed complete in 2017.
  • Proposed Applications heard at the December 19, 2017, Committee of the Whole Council Meeting (Staff Report P2017-105).
  • A statutory public meeting was held on March 20, 2018 with no staff report.
  • Applications were appealed the proposed applications on March 28 and 31, 2018 to the Ontario Municipal Board (the Town failed to make a decision within the required 180 days from the date the application was deemed complete).
  • Notice of the Case Management Conference was provided to nearby property owners within 120m of the property on October 8, 2019.
  • A Case Management Conference with LPAT was held on November 12, 2019. No members of the public were identified as party status by LPAT.
  • LPAT identified 3 outstanding issues and authorized a meditator to help resolve the outstanding issues and directed the appellant to return to LPAT for a final decision when a settlement has been reached.
  • At the June 1, 2021 Closed Session Council meeting, Council directed staff to bring the proposed settlement to the June 15, 2021 Council meeting for information and provide a recommendation to the following July 27, 2021 Council meeting to receive final direction on the appealed applications.
  • June 15, 2021 Council Meeting was held to discuss about the proposed settlement issues on the Draft Plan of Subdivision and Zoning By-law Amendment applications.
